News and Events
Fields of Agape is working in partnership with the local community to enhance everyone’s ability to access local food, art, and culture. Based in our home town of Carthage, we work together with a cooperative artisan shop at the corner of E 2nd Street and Walnut Street, called the Community Harvest Marketplace. You can view their page here: http://www.coharvestmart.com/
The beautiful buildings of the Marketplace are a historic site, where the renowned Tweety lumber company once thrived. We have restored much of the space to use for grocery, cafe, art gallery, gardens, grinding flour and more. The marketplace provides an enriching environment for the community to come and enjoy the scenary, coffee, artisanal crafts and farm product, inviting people to make the connection between farming and art.
To add an additional attraction, we are located across the street from the train stop where antique trains run between Knightstown and Carthage every weekend. You can view the train information here: http://cksrailroad.homestead.com/ Take the train with the family, then walk over to the Marketplace for a fun summer day trip this year.

Where: Community Harvest Marketplace
When: Saturday, November 6th: 10am-4pm and Sunday, November 7th: 12pm-4pm
What: 1st Annual Holiday Art Sales
Who: All are welcome and encouraged to join!
This will be the last event of the year at our Community Harvest Marketplace, as we will be closing up Mill Gallery for the winter months. We want to give everyone one last chance to browse the great variety of art produced by many talented, local artisans. You can even feel free to make some art yourself while you stop in to have a look. We will have other farm products for sale as well, including dried goods, pumpkins and other tasty treats of the season. Music along with hot cider and drinks will warm your insides and bring out the happy, holiday spirit in all of us.
Also on Saturday, November 6th, Fields of Agape will be hosting a field event at our farm that includes a tour of the cooperative’s Cold Storage Room, which was partially funded through a Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) grant.
The Cold Storage Room is an example of Fields of Agape’s drive to promote and live a sustainable life. It is cooled by Geothermal in the spring/summer/fall months, and by Mother Nature in the winter months. The Cold Storage is used for grains, beans and seeds, and is shared by multiple grain farmers for bulk food and feed markets. We also use the water output from the geothermal to water our pumpkin/melon patch and grape vines.
Fields of Agape, LLC will provide hot drinks and homemade goodies made from farm product. The Cold Storage tours will be throughout the afternoon on Saturday, November 6th. Check out the Contact Us page for location of our farm. Please let us know if you plan on attending!
